About

About our Church

Lighthouse Baptist Church began in March of 2002 in a small cinder block building in the Browns Summit Community.

A little more than 1 year later, we moved to our current location on Bethel Church Road. Now for these last 20 years, it has stood as a beacon of hope and light in the community.

About our Pastor

Pastor Barkley was born and raised in Central Kentucky. He was saved at the young age of 6 years old while attending Harvest Baptist Church in Georgetown, KY. After hearing Bro. John Seay preach as a young person fell under deep conviction about his sin – and soon asked for the forgiveness of his sins.

As time went along, he and his family attended Clays Mill Road Baptist Church. Sitting in a Mission’s Conference that the church was hosting, God began to speak to his heart about surrender – and He did! Over the next few years though, that surrender began to wain. Finally, hearing Pastor Fugate preach one day on “What God Can Do”, he surrendered to the call to preach.

Upon graduating high school, Pastor Barkley attended Commonwealth Baptist College and graduated in 2010 with a Master’s Degree.

For the next 9 years, he worked on staff at Commonwealth and Clays Mill Road Baptist Church.

In 2014, he and Mrs. Barkley were married and soon thereafter their first son was born. Today, God has blessed them with four children.

In 2019, God moved Pastor and Mrs Barkley to serve here as our Pastor.
